Yuyeon Lee

Teaching Statement
As a piano teacher, I extend my commitment beyond conventional instruction; my goal is to be a mentor who not only imparts musical knowledge but also inspires creativity and fosters a profound connection with music. To achieve this, I try to create a nurturing environment where students are empowered to freely express their musical ideas and emotions. At the core of my teaching philosophy lies the belief in music as a potent form of self-expression. Fostering a deep love for music that transcends the mere notes on a page is a central theme. Encouraging students to engage in open discussions about the piece they play is how we unlock their creativity and ignite a lifelong passion for music. The development of self-confidence in every student is crucial to my approach, as my aspiration is for each individual to recognize and believe in their unique musical abilities. Throughout our shared journey, we explore music, cultivate technical proficiency, and nurture a profound and enduring appreciation for the art.
