Teaching Artist Statement
Music is a universal language that became a compass guiding my life from an early age. It is an honor and privilege for me to use many facets of music to enhance and elevate the quality of life for those that I serve in the field of music therapy.

Teaching Bio
Leeann Bailey received her BM and MM in Piano Pedagogy and Performance from Baylor University and Southern Methodist University. Adding to her careers as piano teacher, photographer, and mother, she completed a degree in Music Therapy from Berklee College of Music with an Internship at the Goddard House Assisted Living and Memory Support residence in Brookline, MA. She has been a music therapist for six years, serving private clients of all ages and leading group sessions in Assisted Living centers in Brookline, Newton and Boston. While serving as Assistant to the Music Therapy Director at Sherrill House in Boston, MA, Leeann was also a supervisor for Berklee College of Music practicum students. Highlights include Community Music with the Peterborough Senior Center, and clinical sessions at Providence House, Boston, and Evans Park at Newton Corner. She started at South Shore Conservatory in 2023.

Performance Bio
While in graduate school, Leeann performed the Prokofiev Piano Concerto #1 under the direction of Anshel Brusilow. Other performances included Copland’s Rodeo and collaborative recitals with trios, vocalists and flutists including the beautiful Carl Reinecke Flute Sonata Undine, Op. 167. Having played the flute since elementary school, she has enjoyed participating in many orchestra and small ensemble performances, and is eager to continue her flute studies at South Shore Conservatory. She started at SSC in 2023.
