Laura Canzano is a classically trained professional violinist based south of Boston, Massachusetts. She maintains an active performance career, regularly appearing with local theater productions, operas, ballets, weddings, and the Southeastern Massachusetts Festival Chorus (SMFC). She has also performed as a member of the Quincy Symphony Orchestra.
Laura holds a Master of Music degree in Violin Performance and Pedagogy from The Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford, where she studied with Aton Miller. She earned her Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, studying violin with John Lindsey, and was awarded the Certificate of Honor in Music Performance.
Laura is currently the K–2 Music Teacher for Duxbury Public Schools, where she provides engaging, culturally responsive instruction incorporating singing, instrumental music, and movement. In 2019, she authored and received a Duxbury Education Foundation Grant to establish a Ukulele Lab, now used across all second-grade classrooms in the district. Prior to her role in Duxbury, Laura served as a general music and strings teacher in Burlington Public Schools, where she founded the district’s first elementary strings program. She has also been on faculty with the Rivers Youth Orchestra, taught private violin and viola lessons, and worked as an instructor at several New York Summer Music Festival (NYSMF) camps. Laura is a registered Suzuki Violin teacher for Books 1–8, having completed training with Teri Einfeldt through the Hartt School Community Division.
