Teaching Statement
Every child is a unique individual who deserves the attention to develop their full potential. As an early childhood teacher, it is my intention to create a learning environment that allows every student to express themself safely, develop friendships, stretch their cognitive skills, and have fun in the process. Exposing children to a variety of subjects, arts and hands-on experiences is important for mindset growth, allowing them to discover their interests and strengths from which they can generate a positive self-esteem. From an early age, a child’s association with learning is connected to the emotions they feel in the process. Therefore, it is imperative that children in my class feel valued, heard, connected, and unique. In this way, we can help them to be happy, excited learners who are willing to take risks, are able to problem solve and think of the bigger picture. At the same time, developing kind and worldly characters are equally important. Ability for high achievement is not limited by age.
