Teaching Artist Statement
Throughout my teaching career I have focused on teaching young children music and dance. I place my artistic vision in the children by nurturing their growth intellectually, creatively, artistically, and social-emotionally.
Teaching Bio
Anne Edgerton holds a BA from Occidental College, MALS from Wesleyan University and a Dalcroze Degree and Certificate from Longy School of Music. She is currently working toward a Certificate in Expressive Arts Therapies from Lesley University. She has been teaching dance for over 30 years and Dalcroze Eurhythmics for 20 years. Anne started teaching at SSC in 2022.
Performance Bio
Anne Edgerton is an active performer as a choreographer-in-residence for the Moving West Dance Theater, based in Framingham. She has collaborated with pianist Vytas Baksys, of the Boston Symphony Orchestra since 2012 in multiple dance creations. Their most recent performance was in June, 2022. She serves on the board of the Dalcroze New England Chapter and organizes workshops and trainings every year for music teachers. She has also presented workshops in Dalcroze Eurhythmics teachers in the Boston area. Anne started teaching at SSC in 2022.
