Teaching Statement
As an educator, it’s my goal to foster each child’s unique skills, personality, and interests. I place great importance on ensuring each student has the tools needed to succeed. It’s a joy to watch each student blossom and grow to their greatest potential, whether that be academically, socially, or emotionally. Ultimately, my aim is to help cultivate a classroom where students support one another, feel pride in their accomplishments, have fun, and truly love coming to school.
Teacher Bio
Amy first discovered her passion for early childhood education while substituting at her own children’s nursery school. After earning her Bachelor’s in Advertising from Michigan State University, she found a new calling in the classroom. Recognizing her love for guiding young learners, Amy earned her EEC certification and went on to teach at Hingham Nursery School for a decade. She recently joined the staff at SSC, where she continues to enjoy helping children develop to their full potential, and where the SSC arts community has a wonderful influence on the curriculum.
