Mairéad Leahy

Mairéad Leahy is a Boston-based music educator and freelance musician. She teaches band and general music at Rogers Middle School in Rockland, MA, where she directs four grade-level concert bands and teaches general music to grades 5–8 with an emphasis on music literacy, music history and culture, digital audio workspaces, and ukulele. She also assists with the Rockland High School pep band and supports a variety of extracurricular music opportunities.

Mairéad holds a Master of Music in Music Education from Boston University and a Bachelor’s Degree with Individual Concentration in Music Management from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She studied saxophone with Ken Reid, Lynn Klock, and Jonathan Hulting-Cohen, and studied clarinet with Mark Miller.

She regularly performs with local ensembles, including the Commonwealth Wind Symphony, Cambridge Symphony Orchestra, and Abletones Big Band, and previously served in the 215th Army Band and 36th Infantry Division Band of the Army National Guard.
