Mary Cicconetti, oboe

Mary Cicconetti

Teaching Artist Statement
I approach my teaching with the philosophy that students need to learn how to practice and develop critical thinking skills to become independent learners and make their own musical decisions. In turn, I feel this approach stimulates the creativity of my students. I view this as an important skill that can manifest itself throughout all aspects of their lives. In this regard, I consider the study of music as an integral component of the growth of all students, preparing them for a lifelong passion with music-making, no matter what endeavor they pursue.
