Student rock group

Rock Band

Middle and high school students meet weekly to work on group dynamics, the development of a cohesive band sound, chart reading, improvisation, and active listening. Bands also learn how to use the gear typically associated with rock, how to promote themselves, and perhaps most importantly, how to write and rehearse original music through collaborative composition.

Performance opportunities include on-campus Open Mic sessions and Basement Shows as well as off-campus showcases at The Middle East, The New World Tavern, Players, Kiskadee Coffee Co, and more.

For more about the Rock Band program at SSC, contact JRP Ensemble Coordinator Erik Caldarone. If you would like to be considered for a position in a newly formed / forming band, please take a moment to fill out our Rock Band and Ensemble Interest Form.
