Music Together® at SSC invites children ages 0-5 and their caregivers to sing, dance and play with us this summer for our Harmonica Session, offered for 6 weeks beginning May 20, and our Banjo Session, offered for 6 weeks beginning July 8.

Register now and fill your summer with oodles of Music Together® fun! Your little music maker will giggle, wiggle, play and sing with delight in our warmhearted and sweet sounding music circle filled with lots of music friends!

Summer 1: Harmonica Song Collection, May 20 - July 3
Our Harmonica collection includes favorites such as the foot stompin’ “Old Brass Wagon” and the playful “Two Little Kitty Cats.” Let’s have fun “cloc-ing” and “oinc-ing” along to the Argentinian “Vengan a Ver” and choo choo choo with “Train to the City”.

Summer 2: Banjo Song Collection, July 8 - August 17
Our Banjo Collection includes favorites like the summer classic “She Sells Sea Shells”, the delightful “Allee Galloo”, and the playful favorite “Trot Old Joe.” Buzz along with “Here is the Beehive”, go fishing with Crawdad and vroom vroom vroom with “Ridin in the Car.”

Tuition

  • Tuition: $150 for 6 weeks
    Sibling Fee: $50, If the sibling is under 8 months old it’s free for them to join!
    We don’t pro-rate below 5 weeks, and families must register for the entire session (or however many classes are left in that session) unless given special permission from Karen Peterson and Rachel White.
  • Makeup policy: one class per session
    Music together® Families are allotted one make up per semester. When they reach out to their teacher (or the Front Desk or Registration Team) they should be sent this Make Up Registration Form. They should receive a confirmation email from the teacher of their class. Just like private lesson make ups they are coordinated directly with the teacher. If you are going to send the make up form to a family via email please cc the teacher of their class, Karen Peterson, and Kasey Sheehan on the email. If a family calls to confirm their make up please email the teacher saying that they called and were wondering if they got their make up request, and cc the family so they can communicate directly with the teacher if need be.
  • Summer Song Collection Songbooks included with registration
    Your tuition includes a beautifully illustrated Songbook (Harmonica, Banjo) that you will receive at your first class as well as access to that particular session’s recorded songs!

Music Together® Family Class

Our Music Together® family classes, ages 0-5, bring out the inner music maker in all of us! We sing, we move, we dance and we play with various percussion instruments and movement props. Our family classes have diverse and culturally rich music with songs that differ in tonality and rhythm, providing our children with a rich musical foundation to carry with them throughout life. We hope you join us as we become immersed in this wonderful universal language of music that speaks to all of us at every age and stage of life. It enhances every area of growth and development in our children as well as builds community, empathy and social skills. All this wrapped up with lots and lots of fun singing, dancing and playing together each week!

 

Music Together® Babies

The Music Together® Babies class, for families with infants from birth through eight months, is a one-semester introduction to Music Together and to early childhood music development. After this one semester, the family enrolls in a mixed-age class.  The music activities in a Babies class are specifically designed to teach parents how to support music development in infancy and how to connect with their infants through music, using concepts like "purposeful touch," "sound layering," and "dancing for baby." Babies classes use the same collection as mixed-age and Sprouts classes, enabling a seamless transition for families and teachers between class programs.

**Your baby will have the same playful "musical ride" in our Mixed-age class if a Babies class is not on the current schedule for the session. You can reach out with any questions too!

Music Together® Sprouts

Music Together® Sprouts is a special class just for our older little ones. Our song collection is the same as our family class, but our song activities are geared more toward our older children and how they learn best. Fun in class includes game songs, partner activities, dancing, extended rhythm pattern play and tonal play and singing alone opportunities. We also give an introduction to our Suzuki Twinkle rhythms each week and have fun clapping, drumming, walking to or tapping to them through play each week! They can then carry what they have learned in Sprouts to other instruments and musical outlets that they may study as they grow older. There is a lot of interaction and comradery in class as well which fosters leadership qualities in our children. We will bring musical joy to our "Music Together® graduates" with lots of smiles, laughs and learning fun!
