Join South Shore Conservatory's multi-talented Jazz/Rock/Pop faculty as they present a day of traditional and contemporary music in varied styles of instrumentation and genres. Jazz, rock and pop is the game of the day!

This event, which sold out last year, features SSC’s faculty jazz quartet serving up light mellow jazz, paired with delectable dishes by Ellen Mackenzie catering. Showcased faculty members include Elan Mehler, piano, Ted Sajdyk, drums, Chris Rathbun, bass and John Vanderpool, sax.  Brunch items include yummy egg dishes, muffins, bagels and French toast, as well as free flowing coffee, tea and juice.

Emily Mark Duo

Cox Hall
Let the gentle rhythms of bossa and swing move your heart in this intimate jazz duo performance. SSC voice chair Emily Browder Melville and Berklee faculty Mark Shilansky weave original, personal takes on timeless tunes.
2-3 pm                 
Elan Mehler Jazz Trio

Hingham Campus Lobby
Contemporary jazz at its finest, SSC pianist Elan Mehler presents his original compositions and arrangements of free flowing, sometimes edgy jazz. As he performs, Elan talks with the audience about his process of bringing an idea to musical readiness.
3-4 pm                 
Blues Pianist Anthony Geraci
Hingham Campus Lobby
Anthony Geraci, SSC's "blues king" plays his famous brand of music, including selections from his Blues Music Award-nominated CD Fifty Shades of Blue. As he plays Anthony takes the audience through the history of the blues and his journey playing it all over the world! Questions are welcome in this intimate hour with a true blues great.

SSC’s JRP faculty pays tribute to the many JRP legends who have left us this year. Their combined body of work provided music lovers decades of unforgettable, classic jazz, rock and pop tunes.  Among those honored will be Prince, David Bowie, BB King, and Merle Haggard.

Announcement - June 2015: SSC's Jane Carr Amphitheater completely updated its sound and lighting systems. Funding for this project has been provided by the Massachusetts Cultural Facilities Fund, a program of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, administered through a collaborative arrangement between MassDevelopment and the Massachusetts Cultural Council. SSC is grateful to the individuals who generously donated the matching funds required as part of this grant.
