At SSC we have a faculty so diverse that we can offer guitar lessons in three different approaches and a variety of styles.
Private Guitar Lessons
For students ages seven and up we offer traditional classical guitar lessons. The acoustic guitar has nylon strings as opposed to metal strings used by guitars designed for popular and folk music. Classical guitar players use their fingers, and not a guitar pick, to pluck individual strings. Students learn music notation, and play classical repertoire.
Our classical guitar teachers are:
|Robert Bekkers||George Little
Using a classical guitar, children as young as three explore a learning method and philosophy, for young children, which approaches music as if it were a language. Children learn language by listening and speaking first, followed by reading and writing. Suzuki adheres to this natural sequence. It also focuses on parent involvement and group experience.
Our Suzuki guitar teachers are:
|George Little (Suzuki Department Chair)||Joseph Scott
