It is always important for me to lead students to appreciating music and expressing their musical thoughts while I teach them piano playing skills. As I am helping my students to establish solid techniques by proper gesture, finger training and good practice methods, I keep encouraging them to read the music carefully and listen to their playing tentatively. In addition, I frequently introduce the music in different periods, styles and performed by various artists, as an aid to continue their interest in music and train their listening and independent musical thinking ability. When students can hear, they are able to check whether the sound, the music they play is what they are going to express.
