Carol Scheig has worked in early childhood education for over 27 years, and was the director of the Conservatory’s Hingham preschool for over 25 years. A magna cum laude graduate of Curry College with a bachelor of arts, Carol holds a certificate from the Massachusetts Department of Education, and certification from the Office of Child Care Services. Carol designed and implemented the original Preschool Program at SSC’s Duxbury campus at the Ellison Center for the Arts, and is used her experience and talent in planning the expansion in Hingham to include full-day pre-kindergarten and kindergarten programs. Her favorite quote is "If we hope for our children that they will become full human beings and that they will move towards actualizing the potential that they have, then, as nearly as I can make out, the only kind of education in existence today that has any faint inkling of such goals is arts education." - Abraham Maslow.
