Allyson Lynch

Teaching Artist Statement
My overall goal as a music and drama educator is to help my students develop a strong foundation of skills from which they can build on in their own individual ways. Since every student is different, I believe this allows each of them to find their own voices as performers. Singing and acting let students express their own feelings through the comfort of the character they are portraying. A basis of healthy vocal technique, age-appropriate repertoire, as well as being comfortable on stage and basic acting concepts, lets my students express themselves in a safe and encouraging atmosphere.

Teaching Bio
Allyson Lynch has been a member of the SSC community since she began as a private voice student in 2010. Her first teaching opportunities were actually given to her by SSC, becoming the teaching assistant for the Summer Vocal Institute’s Primo ensemble, and a few other camp-style programs. After graduating from The Hartt School with a Bachelors of Music in Voice Performance, Allyson attended Boston Conservatory’s Vocal Pedagogy Professional Workshop to hone her skills at teaching private voice students. She teaches a small private voice studio at her alma mater Silver Lake Regional High School. Allyson began her adult teaching career with SSC in 2015 when she was offered the opportunity to co-teach both the Curtain Going Up and Let’s Put on a Show summer programs, and has loved every minute of her teaching journey since then.
