Assunta "Su" D'Ambrosio

Teaching Artist Statement
All humans are inherently musical and capable of expressing themselves through music. The teacher's job is to find a way to connect with the student and draw on the interests that they bring to the lesson or class, assess where they are at in terms of musical development and help them move forward by making music in a joyful way.

Teaching Bio
Director of Programs and Curriculum, Assunta "Su" D'Ambrosio holds an MM in clarinet performance from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, a BA in Music from Smith College, and Orff Level III certification from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. At South Shore Conservatory she is a preschool and kindergarten classroom music specialist. Previously, she taught general and instrumental music in public schools for 17 years as well as private lessons on clarinet. Su has been with South Shore Conservatory since 2003.

Performance Bio
Su is a freelance musician who performs for area musical productions as well as a regular member of the music program at Christ Church in Plymouth, MA.
