Bobby Glynn, SWE Conductor, Lab Jazz Conductor
Mr. Glynn is a music educator for Foxboro Public Schools where he directs both the 6th Grade and 7th Grade Bands, and teaches instrumental and general music grades 5-8 at the Ahern Middle School. Previous to teaching in Foxboro, Mr. Glynn was a Band Director in the North Middlesex Regional and Bellingham Public school districts.
In 2011, Mr. Glynn completed his Bachelor of Music degree in both Music Education and Percussion Performance at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, holding leadership roles in the Wind Ensemble, Marching Band, Orchestra, Marimba Ensemble, and Percussion Ensemble. In 2013, Mr. Glynn completed his Masters in Music Education from The Boston Conservatory and received the Music Education award upon graduating. While there, he developed an alternative approach to teaching beginning Band students that is in use by various educators across the country.
As a percussionist, Mr. Glynn has studied with Lincoln Center’s Ayano Kataoka, Drum Corps International’s Thom Hannum, Eduardo Leandro, and has participated in several masterclasses with Robert Van Sice, Leigh Howard Stevens, and Stuart Saunders Smith. He has toured the United States performing with the World Champion Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps and performed in the orchestra of the Festival Internacional de Inverno de Campos do Jordão, Brazil.
Mr. Glynn began studying with Ed Sorrentino in 2004, was a student of Summer Music Festival, and has been teaching at it in various capacities since 2008.
